About East Rand Mall

East Rand Mall is a 69,000 sqm regional shopping mall situated a mere 7km from South Africa’s busiest airport, OR Tambo International Airport. Located off the R 21 on Bentel Avenue, this Mall is a gateway to the greater Boksburg area. The Mall opened in 1992 and has become a popular shopping destination for Boksburg, Benoni, Brakpan, and Kempton Park residents.

The well-planned tenant mix includes all of South Africa’s major chain stores and a host of smaller specialised clothing stores, making it a fashion must-see destination on the East Rand. East Rand Mall’s first-ever dedicated grocery anchor, Checkers FreshX, opened its doors in a state-of-the-art store that spans an impressive 3,539 sqm, with an additional 216 sqm dedicated to Checkers Liquor .

The Mall has over 170 stores. The parking area comprises 1, 489 covered and 2, 359 open spaces. There are accessible disabled parking bays at each entrance. The Mall is one of the retail pillars in the East Rand and is always looking for ways to improve the shopping experience available to shoppers. Redefine Properties and Vukile Property Fund, East Rand Mall’s owners, undertook a significant renovation project in 2015. By redeveloping the Mall, an additional entrance was added, increasing the overall size of the Mall and finally combining the old (design in the 1990s) with a more modern overall design.

Trading Hours

The Mall provides dining and take-out offerings and these restaurants and take-away stores operate at the prescribed franchisee trading hours between 09am and 10pm or later on weekends, while Woolworths stay open until 7pm Monday to Friday.

Spillage Fee 
A non-participating fee of R20,00 will be deducted from the Gift Card if it is used outside of East Rand Mall.

Wheelchair Friendly

To hire a wheelchair, visit the Security Office located at Entrance 3 underground.
A refundable fee of R100 is requested as well as your ID or your Driver’s License.

Pensioner Parking Cards
From Monday – Friday 9am – 7pm and on Weekends from 9am – 5pm

Pensioners can get their parking tickets validated at  the Information desk daily during Mall Trading Hours.
